  ►  Mechanism of Action :   colchicine decreases the crystal-induced secretion of chemotactic factors and superoxide anions by activated neutrophils. It also limits neutrophil adhesion to endothelium by modulating the expression of endothelial adhesion molecules. Higher concentrations inhibit IL-1 processing and release from neutrophils. Colchicine inhibits the release of histamine-containing granules from mast cells, the secretion of insulin from pancreatic cells, and the movement of melanin granules in melanophores. ,
