  ►    Mechanism of Drug Drug Interaction :  Fomepizole inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase and thus reduces the rate of elimination of alcohol by about 40%; similarly alcohol reduces the rate of elimination of fomepizole by about 50%. Fomepizole also induces cytochrome P450 isoenzymes and could potentially interact with other drugs that affect this enzyme system.
